7 Fehler, die Grow-Anfänger unbedingt vermeiden sollten

7 mistakes that grow beginners should definitely avoid

Everyone starts small – especially when it comes to indoor growing, it's important to avoid common beginner mistakes to achieve healthy plants and optimal yields. Here are seven common mistakes you should definitely avoid as a beginner.

1. Overwatering the plants

A common mistake is overwatering. Plant roots need oxygen and can literally drown if watered too much. Only water when the top 2-3 centimeters of soil are dry.

2. Incorrect lighting

The right lighting is crucial for healthy plant growth. Dim or incorrectly selected lamps will lead to poor yields or poor growth. Find out in advance which lighting is ideal for your plant species.

3. Too little or too much fertilizer

It's all about balance! Too much fertilizer is just as harmful to your plants as too little. Start with small amounts and gradually increase depending on how your plants respond.

4. Poor ventilation

Adequate ventilation not only prevents mold but also strengthens the plant structure. Ensure your grow room is well ventilated and allows fresh air to circulate.

5. Ignoring the pH value

An incorrect pH level in the soil or water can lead to nutrient deficiencies and growth damage. Check the pH regularly (ideally between 6 and 7 for most plants) to ensure optimal conditions.

6. Inadequate hygiene in the grow room

A dirty grow room significantly increases the risk of pests and diseases. Clean your equipment regularly to protect your plants from unwanted intruders.

7. Lack of patience

Many beginners tend to be impatient and harvest too early. Every plant needs time to fully mature and produce maximum yield. Learn about the ripening times of your plants and give them plenty of time to grow.

By avoiding these mistakes, you'll greatly increase your chances of success and can look forward to healthy plants and a successful harvest. Happy growing!
